My question is, how can I photograph you in a way that preserves the warm, loving feeling of your incredible family? How can I translate your unscripted moments into heirloom photographs that you and your future generations can come back to for years, decades and even centuries to come? It is from this place of inspiration that I approach each family session.
My approach to photography is a delicate balance of organic emotion paired with gentle direction. With me, you’ll never be left wondering what to do with your -insert body part here- hands, feet, belly button...baby toe? With me, you can both embrace your inner weirdo and let loose, because what’s the point of photographs if they don’t show the real you? All I need from you is a little bit of faith and a promise that you’ll keep an open mind and heart throughout this process. Oh, and that you come well-fed because not everyone can pull off the hangry look in their photos! ","what_to_expect":"My name’s Nancy and I am a wedding and family photographer serving Vancouver B.C. and beyond. I love love love being a hype woman for all my families and clients and 100% love celebrating them on their special occasions. As much as I take my work seriously, each milestone and occasion that I get to witness is a true privilege and it’s so heartwarming that I get to be a part of these moments! And often, when going through photos weeks after the photoshoot, I’ll find myself smiling as I’m prepping a gallery for delivery because all those emotions come rushing back. I’m all in with my families and clients.
Besides that, you can find me at home with the hubs cuddling on the couch watching Grey’s Anatomy, The Bachelor, or anything on Food Network. If it’s summer time, then there’s a small chance I’ll be out hiking with friends or a much larger chance I’m chilling on the patio with the girls, a sweet glass of sangria and a homemade charcuterie board (Cheese, bread, and wine? Yum!)
And if after all this you only remember three things about me, I want it to be this: I love Jesus, I love my husband, and I love my job, in that order. Jesus took hold of my life when I was 12 and I’ve never looked back. He is the backbone of everything I do, in work, in love, in life. Finding a good balance between home life and work life is always important and that’s why I gotta keep some time reserved for my husbabe even through that busy season! More on our love story later…But my number 3 is my work, it’s you. With each session, I’m all in. The goal is always to stay true to the people in front of my camera, capturing them the way they are, and to uncover the real and raw beauty that every family shares.

After your session I will upload the best images from the shoot (on average 20 - 30 images) to an online gallery for you to choose from. We will then hop on a call to discuss any retouching requirements and you can place additional orders with me at this time for more images and/or wall art.

Having worked with hundreds of newborns, as well as teaching other photographers the art of newborn posing, I pride myself in newborn safety and skillfully posing your sweet baby. I am a mom of three myself! I also have a great collection of props, bonnets, and headbands to style your session with, a mix of beautiful rustic props, and soft textures to showcase your baby.
There is never a session that I am not in awe in the miracle of new life. The newborn stage changes oh so quickly, and can be gone before you know it.. in a matter of days. Let me capture that tiny face of your newest family member, just as they are, brand new.
The Newborn Mini Session, is up to 1.5 - 2 hours long and includes just solo shots of baby, both in props and posed on the beanbag. The result is 20 images, delivered via an online secure gallery.
The Newborn Full Session is 2-3 hours long and includes solo shots of baby both in props and posed on the beanbag, family and sibling poses, and detail close ups (sweet lashes, lips, toes etc.) This session is all inclusive and results in 35+ images

Once you schedule in your baby’s due date you secure a place on my calendar. When your little one arrives, simply contact me at your earliest convenience, and we will finalize a date for when baby is approximately 5-14 days old. This ensures that they are still quite sleepy and used to being curled up just like in the womb. I also send out a final prep guide and details form, with some tips on how to help with a sleepy babe and for the session to run smoothly. You can also let me know if there are any colours that you prefer so that I can design the session with them in mind.
During the session, this is your time to relax. The studio will be warm and cozy for baby, with soothing music and dim lighting. It’s fully stocked with supplies for mama and babe. I also have some outfit options for mom, so no need to panic about what to wear.
After the session, you can expect to receive your gallery in approximately 3-4 weeks. This timeline allows me to not only edit to my style, but to take care of any of those little newborn skin issues like acne or dry skin, etc.

To add variety and style to the session, the package includes the option to have three outfit changes. This allows the seniors to showcase different looks and styles, adding depth and creativity to their photos.
After the session, the photographer will carefully select and edit a minimum of 90 images. These images will be professionally edited to ensure that they are of the highest quality and showcase the senior in the best way.
The edited images will be provided in high-resolution format. The client will have full rights to the images, allowing them to print, share, and cherish these memories for a lifetime.
